I have a mid 2010 macbook pro which supports firewire 800 so the fact that it did not come with a Firewire 400 cable did not effect me, but I think it said it should come with one.

I opened the packaging of the drive and I received an External Drive, a power cable, a Firewire 800 cable and a USB 2.0 cable.
